Its founder, Montague Burton, set up a tailoring company when he was 18 years old and, promising “a five guinea suit for 55 shillings”, made and sold high quality suits at affordable prices. Supplying uniforms to 25% of British troops during the first world war, the company grew a national reputation as a hard working brand. Since then, Burton has achieved numerous further accolades including several royal visits and provided suits for the 1966 World Cup Winners as well as the Euro 2000 and World Cup 2002 England teams.
